Worskshop Dust Extraction Video & Paid Subscriber Updates.
Oopsie, – I am posting a video here that I forgot to share and some updates about subscriptions.
CamVac Video
I totally forgot to post this onto substack! Here is my second video release and this time it’s a workshop video. The workshop is very dusty and I need to up my dust management game, so I purchased this Record CamVac back in January. Watch me mount it to the wall and get it operational.
One that note - If you’ve not done so already, I’d really appreciate you subscribing to the Life of Treedom YouTube channel and giving the video a thumbs up.
From this point I’ll be putting all of my YouTube videos here first as a preview for paying subscribers.
And on that note….
Paying Subscribers
Now that I am producing content and I have something of a plan to continue the publishing, I will be turning on the paid subscriptions. At the time of writing this (6th April 2023) I have two legit subscribers and I know you both personally, so I’ll be comping you two a lifetime complimentary membership for as long as you’re subscribed. This means you won’t ever have to pay any money to see my content.
To the person in Corfu who is subscribed, you already pay me in lodgings and I look forward to seeing you in July! To the person in Newcastle – you can pay me with two SoPost hoodies from the next SoPost day stash (zipped please).
I’m also going to comp the next twenty three subscribers with the same lifetime free subscription. Update August 2023 - With 18 subscribers now, I am also going to comp the next seven subscribers. Once they’re gone they’re gone.
The aim in doing this is so that I can get some subscribers in at the ground level and reward them for their early attention. I am very grateful for such attention and the least I can do is relieve them of the financial burden of supporting me.
I also need to turn on paid subscriptions at some point and I’d prefer to do that now. If my content is any good, people should feel like they want to pay me for it. If my content is rubbish then it is on me to make it better. The last thing I want to do is get to a 100 subscribers, turn on paid features and then lose 99 of them. I’d rather gain smaller amounts of paying subscribers so that we can keep the small vibe for as long as possible.
Content
The way I’ve planned this entire content publication thing is that I intend for this substack to contain the majority of the content. There will be some behind the scenes footage that doesn’t make it into YouTube, perhaps some longer form videos, early release footage and a more frequent schedule of posting here on substack.
Youtube is where I will be posting the more polished videos (if you can currently call them that as I am very much still learning how to record, edit and be the person in the front of the camera) that drive people to this substack. There are a tonne of new features coming from substack and I really like how they treat the people that use their platform.
In terms of what you can expect content wise - stuff related to woodland, the workshop and college. The one exception with college is that I cannot post footage of under 18s and since half of my class is under 18 it makes filming a little tricky. After Easter we start climbing again and now that I have a head cam I can take some footage of me climbing so you can all get a feel for what it is like to climb a tree and (hopefully) use a chainsaw.
Thanks for reading this far.
Cheers,
Jamie.
